National Sea Fish Day 2004

Britz are taking part in a national fund-raising event on Friday 3rd December 2004. Fishing is today's most dangerous industry. An average of seven men are killed or seriously injured and three boats lost every month. the true cost of fish is not what we pay in the shops but is in men's lives.

Fishermen's Mission

At Britz we are joining hundreds of other fish and chip businesses across the UK to raise money for the work of The Fishermen's Mission amongst fishermen's widows and children. Few people realise the real cost of the fish and chips that we all enjoy. All the high tech equipment in the world, can't fight against a force nine gale in the North Sea or heavy storms off the West Coast of England.

We at Britz have pledged 3% of our takings on Friday 3rd December 2004 towards this worth while charity. Friday has been a traditional day for people to eat fish and chips. Why not make sure your don't miss out on Friday 3rd December. If you come along to our shop you will find a warm welcome and you will also be able to help the widows and children of the men who risk their lives every day to ensure we can have fish and chips on our tables.

In addition we are collecting donations from customers in our charity box, carrying out a treasure hunt and other games resulting in customers winning FREE fish and chips and portions of chips, come and have a go.
